Skoda's mid-life refresh for the Slavia has been caught testing in Maharashtra by enthusiast Anvay Sheolikar, with the latest spy shots offering the clearest look yet at both the cabin and the reworked front and rear styling. The updated sedan is on track for a launch later in 2026.

What was announced

Spy photographer Anvay Sheolikar captured a heavily camouflaged Slavia test mule in Maharashtra, with wrap concentrated on the front and rear, signalling that these are the panels receiving the most significant visual revisions. The greenhouse, doors and overall silhouette appear unchanged, confirming this is a facelift rather than a generation change.

A Kushaq-style nose and a fresher cabin are exactly what the Slavia needed to stay ahead of the Verna and City for another cycle.

At the front, the Slavia is expected to adopt a revised grille inspired by the recently launched Kushaq facelift, paired with a redesigned bumper carrying sharper inserts. Headlamp internals look set for new LED signatures, and a fresh set of alloy wheel designs is likely to feature on higher trims. The rear is also under wraps, pointing to revised tail-lamp graphics and possibly a tweaked boot lid finish, in line with Skoda's recent global design direction.

The cabin, partly visible through the camouflage, hints at a redesigned dashboard layout. Expect a larger free-standing touchscreen, updated steering wheel, and a reworked centre console mirroring changes seen on the Kushaq facelift. The mechanical package is widely expected to carry over, meaning the 115 PS 1.0 TSI with 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic, and the 150 PS 1.5 TSI with 7-speed DSG, both continuing under the MQB-A0-IN platform. ADAS hardware, already standard on the Kushaq facelift, is the most likely meaningful feature addition. Skoda has not confirmed pricing, but the facelift is expected to launch in the second half of 2026, slotting against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus.

The Car Jury verdict

The current Slavia is already on our BUY list, and a Kushaq-style nose graft is the right call. Faisal Khan of FasBeam noted on the Kushaq facelift that "the facelift has been done very well because earlier there was chrome here," and that cleaner, body-coloured grille language will suit the sedan's lines even better than the SUV's.

Our read for buyers: if you are within weeks of signing, the pre-facelift Slavia at run-out pricing is still a genuinely strong midsize sedan, with the 1.5 TSI DSG remaining the segment's enthusiast pick. Everyone else should wait the few months for the facelift, because a fresher cabin, updated infotainment and a sharper face will hold resale far better than today's car. The mechanically identical Virtus is the other rational shortlist entry.
