Spy shots of the Skoda Slavia facelift's cabin have surfaced ahead of the midsize sedan's expected India debut in late 2026. The images show a dashboard, infotainment screen and two-spoke steering wheel that look near-identical to the current car, suggesting Skoda is keeping cabin changes minimal.

What was announced

Spy images published by Rushlane show the interior of the upcoming Skoda Slavia facelift, focused on the dashboard, touchscreen infotainment unit and steering wheel. The layout looks essentially carried over from the current car. The pre-facelift Slavia uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a two-spoke steering wheel with silver scroll wheels for audio and cruise control, and the spied unit appears identical in size and form.

Skoda is not reinventing the Slavia's cabin, and it does not need to; the bigger story is the rumoured 8-speed AT on the 1.0 TSI.

What is likely to change is the interior colour theme and seat upholstery, plus the addition of new features. A larger digital driver's display, similar to the unit fitted to the recently facelifted Kushaq, is expected. There is also speculation that Skoda may extend the Kushaq facelift's rear-seat massage function to the Slavia, a first in the segment if it happens.

Under the bonnet, the Slavia is expected to retain its 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. The bigger mechanical news is that the 1.0 TSI could pick up a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic, replacing the current 6-speed AT. The 1.5 TSI's 7-speed DSG is likely to continue unchanged. Skoda is expected to debut the facelifted Slavia in India by late 2026, with the Volkswagen Virtus facelift following shortly after, given that both cars share the MQB-A0-IN platform and most hardware. Pricing on the current Slavia spans roughly Rs 11.64 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh ex-showroom.

The Car Jury verdict

This is a mild update, not a reinvention, and that is fine. The current Slavia's cabin is already among the best-built in the segment, and the 10.25-inch screen plus physical climate controls do not need fixing. Faisal Khan of FasBeam notes the facelift work elsewhere has been handled well because Skoda has dialled back the chrome, and that restraint suits the Slavia. The bigger questions are whether Skoda brings the Kushaq facelift's rear massage function down to the sedan, and whether the rumoured 8-speed AT on the 1.0 TSI finally arrives. If you want a Slavia (our verdict: BUY) or its Virtus twin (BUY) today, do not wait. The facelift will not transform the car, and current stock will see discounts as launch nears.
