Porsche India's 70% Buy-Back Guarantee: Smart Hedge Or Marketing Cushion?

Porsche India has rolled out an Assured Buy-Back Program that guarantees up to 70% of the vehicle's value after 36 months of ownership. Offered in partnership with a preferred finance partner, the scheme is currently applicable to the Cayenne, Macan Electric and Taycan, and is opted in at the time of purchase.
What was announced
The Assured Buy-Back Program is opted into at the time of vehicle purchase and locks in a pre-agreed resale value that stays valid for 36 months from the invoice date. At the end of the three-year period, the programme covers the difference between the pre-agreed assured value and the actual realised resale price, subject to terms including vehicle condition, service history and mileage limits.
A factory-backed 70% residual floor is exactly the safety net India's luxury EV buyers have been waiting for.
Porsche India has confirmed the coverage extends to up to 70% of the ex-showroom value, though the exact assured percentage will vary by model, variant and usage profile agreed at contract signing. The scheme has been structured with a preferred financial partner rather than run in-house, and is currently limited to three nameplates in the Indian portfolio.
| Model | Powertrain | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Cayenne | Petrol / Hybrid | Up to 70% after 36 months |
| Macan Electric | EV | Up to 70% after 36 months |
| Taycan | EV | Up to 70% after 36 months |
The 911, Panamera and ICE Macan are not currently listed under the programme. Standard terms on annual mileage, service adherence and condition assessment apply at the point of buy-back.
The Car Jury verdict
This is Porsche India insulating buyers from the one number that has haunted luxury EV ownership here: the three-year residual. The Taycan and Macan Electric are the real beneficiaries. India's used-EV market is thin, battery-anxiety pricing is brutal, and a 70% floor after 36 months is genuinely better than what the open market will pay. The Cayenne inclusion is more about parity than need; it holds value fine on its own.
Biturbo Media has already pointed out that several Porsche products struggle for the global halo that props up resale elsewhere, and that logic applies doubly in India. A factory-backed floor plugs that gap. If you were sitting on the fence about a Taycan or Macan Electric, this is the nudge. Read the fine print on mileage caps and condition clauses, then sign.
