The 150 cars formed the first customer batch of the Syros EV in Kochi. Incheon Kia has received over 650 bookings for the electric SUV so far, meaning roughly a quarter of its current order book has been fulfilled with this single-day handover. The delivered cars were flagged off individually by senior Kia India executives, including MD and CEO Gwanggu Lee, who attended the ceremony in person.
The Syros EV was launched on July 23 as Kia's second mass-market electric model for India, following the EV9 and slotting below larger Kia electrics in the range. Incheon Kia itself is closing in on 50,000 cumulative sales since its inception seven years ago, with 10,000 sales projected for calendar year 2026 alone. That trajectory positions the dealer as one of Kia India's larger single-point retail operations, and the Syros EV batch is central to hitting the annual target.

Strip out the record-book theatre and what remains is a signal Indian EV skeptics should sit with: the Syros EV, priced and packaged as a compact family SUV rather than a science project, is moving in volumes that the Nexon EV took years to normalise. Incheon Kia is sitting on 650-plus bookings; that is a real order book, not a launch-week spike.
Kia has quietly done what Tata and Mahindra keep promising. Faisal Khan of FasBeam has argued the brand premium buyers will pay for a badge, and the Syros is cashing that cheque in the EV aisle. Buyers cross-shopping should still look hard at the Seltos and Sonet for range anxiety reasons, but the Syros EV has earned its shortlist spot.
