Kia India has added two new top-spec trims to the Seltos line-up, the GTX(O) and X-Line(O), starting at Rs 21.57 lakh ex-showroom. Both variants pack a broader Level 2+ ADAS suite over the outgoing GTX(A) and X-Line(A), and are offered only with the turbo-petrol DCT and diesel AT combinations.

What was announced

Kia has introduced two new top variants of the Seltos: the GTX(O) on the turbo-petrol side and the X-Line(O) on the design-focused side. Both sit above the existing GTX(A) and X-Line(A) trims and are offered exclusively with automatic transmissions. Prices start at Rs 21.57 lakh ex-showroom.

You are paying near Rs 25 lakh on-road for a six-year-old platform with bolt-on ADAS. The mid-spec Seltos is still the smart buy.

No manual or IVT options are offered on the (O) trims; the 1.5 NA petrol is not available on these variants.

The headline addition is an expanded Level 2+ ADAS suite. Where the GTX(A) offered 21 ADAS functions, the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) get 28. The seven new features include Junction Crossing assist, Lane Change Oncoming, Lane Change Side, and Evasive Steering Assist under the frontal collision avoidance system, along with navigation-based adaptive cruise control that adjusts speed for corners and speed-limited zones. The (O) trims also add creature comforts over the (A) variants, though Kia has positioned the ADAS upgrade as the primary reason to step up. The Seltos continues to rival the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder in the mid-size SUV segment.

The Car Jury verdict

The Seltos remains a strong mid-size SUV pick, and our review verdict on the Kia Seltos is still BUY, but the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are not the trims we would recommend. At Rs 21.57 lakh ex-showroom, you are paying near-Rs 25 lakh on-road for an SUV whose platform is now six years old. Faisal Khan of FasBeam puts it bluntly: "This is not something they had thought about when designing this car back when it was launched in 2020." The bolt-on ADAS shows.

Gagan Choudhary also notes that the real Seltos volumes sit around the 1.5 NA petrol, not these top-end auto-only trims. Buy the mid-spec HTX or GTX; skip the (O) tax. If ADAS is non-negotiable, the segment's newer platforms deliver it better integrated.
