What was announced

Mahindra's domestic passenger vehicle dispatches came in at 60,393 units in June 2026, a 27.66% jump over 47,306 units in June 2025. Month-on-month, the OEM added 2,372 units over May 2026, a 4.09% climb. Exports and commercial vehicles are excluded from this breakdown.

The XUV 3XO EV is doing to Mahindra's compact SUV numbers what the Nexon EV once did to Tata: expanding the pie, not cannibalising it.

The Scorpio and Scorpio N together clocked 14,097 units, up 10.65% YoY, holding the top slot and 23.34% of Mahindra's PV mix. The Thar and Thar Roxx pair came in second at 10,669 units, up 11.81% YoY, contributing 17.67% of volume. The XUV 3XO, including its recently launched electric variant, posted 10,063 units, a 41.95% YoY surge and nearly 50% ahead of May 2026, making it the fastest-growing nameplate in the portfolio.

The Car Jury verdict

The June numbers confirm what The Car Jury has argued for months: Mahindra's SUV-only playbook is working precisely because the range now covers every price band from Bolero to BE6 and XEV 9e. The Scorpio N remains the segment anchor, and our Scorpio N review still reads BUY. The 42% YoY jump on the XUV 3XO, powered by the electric variant, vindicates Rachit Hirani of MotorOctane, who noted Mahindra has effectively "launched an EV alongside the ICE" on the same nameplate.

The one caution flag comes from Biturbo Media, who warned that with the 7XO, "the electronic dependency has increased even more" versus the XUV700. Buyers chasing mechanical simplicity should stick with Scorpio N or Thar. Everyone else: Mahindra's momentum is real, and the 3XO EV is the smart-money pick this quarter.
