These are steep numbers by Jeep's usual standards, and they tell you exactly where the brand sits in the Indian mid-size and seven-seater SUV race. The Meridian is a capable diesel with genuine 4x4 hardware, but at Rs 23-38 lakh it fights the Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra XUV700 for mindshare, and it is losing. Discounts of Rs 1.65 lakh do not fix that; they confirm it.
Faisal Khan of FasBeam has flagged the Compass's turning circle as a real usability compromise in city driving, and that packaging feel has not aged well. If you want a Jeep badge and diesel torque, the Meridian at these offers is fair value. Most buyers are better served by a Skoda Kushaq or Kylaq. Verdict: WAIT for MY26 clearance later this year.
