2027 Hyundai Tucson Face Leaks On A Pleos Screen: Boxy, Upright, India-Bound
A spy shot of Hyundai's Pleos Connect infotainment screen has inadvertently revealed the front end of the 5th-generation Tucson, codenamed NX5. The SUV shifts to Hyundai's new 'Art of Steel' design language, with a global debut expected later this year and an India launch tipped for 2027.

Hyundai is developing the fifth-generation Tucson under the internal codename NX5. The company is expected to reveal the SUV globally later in 2026, with the India launch slated for 2027. Ahead of the official unveil, a spy image of the car's Pleos Connect infotainment screen has surfaced, and the graphic on the display itself shows the new Tucson's front fascia.
Hyundai finally has a Tucson face with real road presence, but presence alone will not fix the segment problem it has here.
The design confirms Hyundai's shift away from its 'Sensuous Sportiness' language to the new 'Art of Steel' philosophy already previewed on other recent Hyundai concepts and test mules. The nose is markedly more upright and boxier than the outgoing Tucson's swoopy front, with chiselled surfacing replacing the current car's flowing forms. A horizontal LED strip runs across the top of the fascia and connects down into vertically stacked DRL clusters at either end, creating what reads as an 'H' motif when lit.
The bonnet appears to use a clamshell design, wrapping over the top of the fenders and reinforcing the SUV's slab-sided, upright stance. The leaked screen matches earlier test mule sightings and digital renders that have circulated over the past few months, suggesting the production car will stay close to what has now been shown. No details on powertrains, dimensions, or India-specific trims have been confirmed by Hyundai yet.
The Car Jury verdict
The Tucson is a halo product in India, priced above the Creta but below the Tiguan, and Hyundai badly needs the next one to feel special. The leaked face, upright, boxy, with a top-mounted LED bar linking vertically stacked DRLs into an H signature, at least gives it road presence the outgoing car lacks. Whether that translates to volume is another matter.
Biturbo Media notes Hyundai's cars sell in serious numbers here, and that is true of the Creta and Venue, not the Tucson. Motor Inc points out Hyundai nails cabin experience but has been softer on suspension tuning, an area a premium SUV cannot afford to fluff. If you are shopping this segment now, the Creta is a WAIT anyway; hold for the NX5 reveal before signing anything above Rs 25 lakh.
