Toyota Kirloskar Motor has rolled out a 2026 update for the Innova Crysta, with prices now starting at Rs 19.72 lakh, ex-showroom. The diesel MPV gets subtle cosmetic revisions and no mechanical changes. This is widely expected to be the final refresh before the Crysta is retired in 2027.

What was announced

Toyota has updated the Innova Crysta with mild visual changes and a price hike of Rs 32,000 to Rs 83,000 across the range. The front gets a revised grille and chrome bumper garnish, the rear bumper garnish has been tweaked, and the cabin picks up a copper theme on the door trims and steering wheel. Mechanicals are untouched: the 2.4-litre diesel and manual or automatic options carry over.

Toyota is charging up to Rs 83,000 more for chrome on a platform it is about to retire.

The 7-seater layout uses captain seats in the second row. A fleet version of the GX is also on sale at the same price. The top ZX trim is 7-seater only.

Toyota has confirmed the Crysta will be discontinued in 2027, making this the likely final price list for the nameplate in its current form. The Innova HyCross, with its strong hybrid powertrain, continues alongside as the more modern alternative for private buyers.

The Car Jury verdict

Buy it if you need a diesel workhorse, but understand what you are signing up for. Toyota is charging up to Rs 83,000 more for chrome garnishes, a tweaked grille and copper-themed cabin trims on a platform it is preparing to retire. There is no powertrain update, no safety upgrade worth naming, and the richer Innova HyCross already exists for buyers who want the modern Innova experience with a hybrid.

As Faisal Khan of FasBeam notes about Toyota's recent product thinking, "this is not something they had thought about when designing this car back when it was launched in 2020." That is precisely the problem here. The Crysta still earns its keep with fleet operators and self-drive families who want a diesel manual and bulletproof resale, but private buyers should walk into a HyCross showroom instead.
