The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection, a day before its scheduled launch on 24 July 2026. Bharat NCAP tested the ZXI+ automatic variant, which posted strong scores in frontal, side and pole impact assessments.

Bharat NCAP has awarded the facelifted Maruti Brezza a 5-star rating for both Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection, published a day before Maruti Suzuki's scheduled launch on 24 July 2026. The tested car was the Brezza ZXI+ with the 1.5-litre petrol engine paired to the 6-speed torque converter automatic, with a kerb weight of 1,471 kg.
A 5-star Bharat NCAP score finally lets Maruti argue safety on the Brezza's spec sheet, not just its badge.
The SUV scored 30.41 out of 32 for adult protection and 43 out of 49 for child protection. Bharat NCAP noted good protection across the tested body regions, and the car cleared the side pole impact assessment, which is a mandatory hurdle for a 5-star result.

The Car Jury verdict
A 5-star Bharat NCAP result on a Maruti compact SUV is a real shift, and it lands right when the Brezza needed it most. The Nexon, Sonet and Venue have all leaned on structural safety as a talking point, and Maruti has now closed that gap on paper.
