Kia hikes prices by up to 2 percent from July 1: buy in June if you're ready

Kia India has announced a price hike of up to 2 percent across its entire model range, effective July 1, 2026. The carmaker has blamed rising input costs and higher operational expenditure, and says the increase could reach Rs 2.6 lakh on some variants, depending on the model and trim chosen.
What was announced
Kia India confirmed on June 18, 2026 that prices across all nine of its models sold in India will go up by up to 2 percent from July 1. In its statement, the company cited "rising input costs and an overall increase in operational expenditure," and said it has "endeavoured to keep the price increase to a minimum by absorbing a significant portion of the cost escalation internally." The extent of the revision will vary by model and variant; on the more expensive trims, the increase could be as much as Rs 2.6 lakh.
A 2 percent hike on a top Seltos or Carens is real money; close your June deal before the new price list resets dealer leverage.
Kia has not yet released a variant-by-variant revised price list. For reference, here is the current ex-showroom range across the line-up as of June 18, 2026.
| Model | Price range |
|---|---|
| Sonet | Rs 7.33 lakh to Rs 14.18 lakh |
| Syros | Rs 8.42 lakh to Rs 15.82 lakh |
| Seltos | Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh |
Prices above are pre-hike, ex-showroom. The remaining Kia models in India, including Carens, Carens Clavis, Carnival and the EV6 and EV9, will also see revisions of up to 2 percent from July 1.
The Car Jury verdict
If you have a Seltos, Sonet, Carens or Carnival deal close to closing, sign it in June. A 2 percent hike on a top-spec Seltos or Carens is real money, and dealers still sitting on June stock will discount harder than they will in July when the new price list lands.
The Seltos and Sonet remain among the strongest picks in their segments, and creator sentiment backs that. Gagan Choudhary of Gagan Choudhary notes that "cars like the Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and their sibling models... have shown that the 1.5 NA Petrol is clearly the most in-demand engine." Our standing calls on the Seltos and Sonet are still BUY; the Carens stays a WAIT with the Carens Clavis around. The hike doesn't change the verdicts, it just changes your timing.
