What was announced

Honda Motors India Limited has launched the facelifted 2026 City, and a detailed walkaround of the second-base V variant has been published on YouTube by Adizone. The V variant is now priced at Rs 13.29 lakh, up from Rs 12.99 lakh previously, a Rs 30,000 increase over the pre-facelift car.

Skip the top trims unless you need the sunroof; the V variant gives you the new City for Rs 13.29 lakh and nothing essential is missing.

On the outside, the V variant receives the new front fascia that debuts on the facelift, with sharper, more aggressive styling. It gets new single-barrel projector headlights with LED daytime running lights mounted on top. The vlogger in the video positions the V as the most value-for-money variant in the lineup, since it carries the visual update of the facelift without commanding the price premium of the higher VX and ZX trims.

The video also notes the features the V variant misses out on compared to the higher variants, which separate it from the top-spec cars in terms of equipment. The City facelift continues to be positioned as Honda's mid-size sedan offering against the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia. The hybrid powertrain remains reserved for the top-end ZX trim, with the V continuing with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The walkaround is among the first to focus on a lower-spec City facelift; most coverage so far has centred on the fully loaded ZX.

The Car Jury verdict

The City V is the variant that makes the math work. A Rs 30,000 increase for the new fascia, refreshed projectors, and DRLs is a fair ask on a sedan that already has the segment's best ride and refinement. As Biturbo Media notes, the City and Verna are now neck-and-neck on exterior premiumness, and at Rs 13.29 lakh the V undercuts equivalent Verna trims while keeping the badge value intact. Rachit Hirani of MotorOctane captures the buyer mood: this is the City India has been waiting for. Skip the top VX and ZX trims unless you specifically want the sunroof and Lane Watch; the V gives you the sedan experience without the SUV-rivalling sticker. The City stays a BUY on our scorecard, and the V is the variant we would write the cheque for.
