Third-Gen Audi Q3 Teased For India: The Segment's Sharpest Return
Audi India has posted back-to-back teasers of the third-generation Q3, confirming the luxury compact SUV is imminent for India. The current Q3 has been on sale here for four years, and the new car, globally revealed in June 2025, is the first of three Audi launches lined up alongside the A5 and Q9.

Audi India has released two teasers on consecutive days confirming the third-generation Q3's imminent Indian launch. The captions, "Designed to keep you curious. Almost Here" and "We've shown enough. For now. Arriving Soon", suggest a reveal is weeks away rather than months. The current Q3 has been on sale in India for four years in its second-generation form and is overdue for replacement.
The Q3 is Audi India's entry point and its highest-volume car, so getting this launch right matters more than the Q9 headline act.
The new Q3 made its global debut in June 2025 and adopts Audi's latest design language, with sharper front-end aesthetics, a redesigned grille flanked by split-element headlamps, and more sculpted body surfaces than the outgoing car. Globally, it moves onto an updated MQB Evo platform, brings a larger free-standing infotainment display paired with a driver's screen, and offers mild-hybrid petrol powertrains alongside a plug-in hybrid option in Europe. India is likely to get the 2.0-litre TFSI petrol with quattro all-wheel drive at launch.
The Q3 is the first of three confirmed Audi India launches for this product offensive, followed by the A5 sedan and the flagship Q9 SUV. Audi had earlier signalled that Q3 and A5 would arrive before Q9, and today's teaser cadence confirms Q3 is going first. The outgoing Q3 is currently priced between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 55 lakh ex-showroom, and the new car is expected to command a modest premium over that.
The Car Jury verdict
The Q3 is Audi India's most important car, full stop. It is the entry point that funnels buyers up to the Q5 and Q7, and the outgoing car has done heavy lifting despite being long in the tooth. A third-gen refresh with the new design language, updated cabin tech, and mild-hybrid petrols lands at the right time, because the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA have had a clear run in this space.
Faisal Khan of FasBeam has pointed out that the outgoing Q3's platform was never designed for what buyers now expect from a 2026 luxury SUV, and that gap is exactly what this new car closes. Price it sensibly under the X1, ideally starting near Rs 48-50 lakh ex-showroom, and the Q3 becomes the default pick again.
